Pledge Fabric Sweeper:

This product picks up pet hair through a gentle back and forth motion. Its capacity is about 145 lint roller sheets worth of pet hair, which works out to be several weeks of usefulness to you. Use it on your furniture and basically anywhere you notice a patch of discarded hair. When it is full, just throw it out and get a new one. The best thing about this item is that you never have to get your hands dirty while cleaning up the hair. It works very fast and is more cost effective than using lint rollers.

Cat box with litter guard:

Various companies make high sided litter boxes. They're great for keeping litter in and preventing urine spray from leaving the box. Those who have agile adult cats can go with a litter box that has a high rim all around. But, if your cat is very young, convalescing or old, you'll want to go with a litter box that is lower on one side for easy entry. A short or young cat can have great difficulty climbing into a high sided litter box. A convalescing cat can injure themselves. An older cat might not only have great difficulty getting inside, but may eventually give up and start peeing on the floor instead. We don't want that.

Smart Grip Cat Undercoat Rake:

If you have a long haired cat, such as a Maine Coon or a Persian, you need an undercoat rake in addition to your current grooming utensils. With most brushes, you only take away hair from the top coat, leaving a great deal of shedding hair untouched. You must tackle the undercoat as well if you want to reduce hairballs, for the health of your cat, and cut down on the mess left on your furniture, for the health of your household. Using an undercoat rake is also advisable for those with long haired dogs.

Wheat Grass:

Wheat grass is beneficial to both humans and their pets. It can be purchased at farmers markets and places like Whole Foods. A person might use it blended in a smoothie, or diced in a sandwich. Pets will eat it growing out of dirt or cut up in a bowl of food. Wheat and other types of grass seed are sold at most pet stores, and are mostly geared towards cats, since they are more typically confined to the house. It can be grown in a small pot of dirt on any window sill, or even placed in water, preferably running water, so there is no stagnation. The Drinkwell Aqua Garden Hydroponic Cat Grass is good for that purpose. I know, it's a mouth full.

The Aqua Garden is a cartridge filled with grass seed that can be attached to the side of the Drinkwell Pet Fountain, where, submerged in running water, the grass seed will sprout into a tasty treat for your pet. Just replace seeds as needed for on going benefit.

Pet Fountain:

The Pet Fountain in of itself is a great investment for any household with pets. For one thing, I know I shy away from drinking unfiltered tap water. I wouldn't subject my children or pets to that either. The Pet Fountain continuously circulates and filters the water, making it more hygienic and fresh tasting to your pets and encouraging them drink more often, which improves their overall health. All of the items listed above can be found at a local PetSmart or online. You can also look for them at other retailers. I encourage you to speak to a pet care associate, if you have any concerns or questions about the usefulness of any of these products in your home.

These are really good suggestions! I've had cats forever and some of them I had not heard of. Thanks.

Glad I could introduce you to some new products. My little kitty is not so little. She's very affectionate and demanding of my attention. I try to keep up-to-date on new toys to keep her entertained and new cleaning products to deal with ever shedding hair. She's a Maine Coon. I knew what I was getting myself into ;-). Thanks for the comment.
